Biologically appropriate raw feeding, also...

B.A.R.F.

Biologically appropriate raw feeding, also known as BARF or raw feeding, has a history of more than 20 years. The developer of this nutritional form is considered to be veterinarian Dr. Ian Billinghurst, who increasingly noticed the connections between industrial pet food and diseases in dogs during his work. The results of his research led to the first BARF literature and nutritional plans for raw feeding.
The idea behind these: To make the dog's diet as species-appropriate as possible. The feeding is mainly oriented towards wolves and wild dogs and consists of raw meat, bones, herbs, vegetables, and fruits. The latter are limited to the possible stomach contents of typical prey animals—just what dogs would eat in the wild. This aims to avoid civilization diseases, problems, and disorders in dogs.
